Two pink beaches. Know which one
Pink Beach Lombok is not the Pink Beach in Komodo National Park. Travellers mix the two up constantly, and the difference changes your budget, your travel time and the kind of boat you need.
Komodo's is the internationally famous one, inside the national park near Labuan Bajo. Lombok's pink beach at Tangsi is the quieter counterpart on Lombok itself — far less known abroad, reachable in a single day, and usually shared with a handful of visitors rather than a fleet of tour boats.

Is Pink Beach Lombok the same as Pink Beach Komodo?
No, and this is the most common mix-up we correct. Lombok's is at Tangsi on the south-eastern coast and takes one day. Komodo's is inside the national park off Flores and needs a four to seven day voyage from Lombok, or a boat from Labuan Bajo.
Why does the sand look pink?
Fragments of red organ-pipe coral broken down and mixed through pale sand. The effect is real but subtle — it reads strongest when the sun is high and the sand is wet, which is why we time the arrival rather than leaving it to chance.
How long is the day?
A full day charter from Lombok's southern harbours, with snorkelling stops along the coast on the way out and back. It does not combine with a Gili day — they sit on opposite coasts.
Is it crowded?
Rarely. Tangsi is quiet and mostly visited by local travellers, which is the whole reason to prefer it if you are already on Lombok and do not have a week for Komodo.
