How fast is a motor yacht between the islands?
Motor yachts and power catamarans on Lombok routes cruise between 15 and 25 knots depending on sea state and load. At 18 knots the 20–25 nautical mile hop to Nusa Penida takes about 70–90 minutes, against several hours on a displacement hull.
What does a motor yacht charter cost?
Private day charters from Lombok start around USD 1,880 per boat for up to 12 guests as of August 2026. Power catamarans for 20–30 guests start near USD 1,910. Both are quoted for the whole vessel with crew, not per person.
Motor yacht or catamaran for Lombok?
Monohull motor yachts give the highest speed and a sport-cruiser feel, ideal for quick runs between Lombok, the Gilis and Nusa Penida. Power catamarans give up a little peak speed for stability at anchor and much more deck space, which suits larger groups.
Is a fast boat rougher in open water?
It can be. Planing hulls slam more in a short chop, so on exposed crossings the captain will slow down rather than punch through. We schedule long legs for the calmer parts of the day for exactly this reason.
