The Komodo itinerary in full

Three to six hours under way most days, and the rest in the water. Here is exactly where the yacht is each morning, what the afternoon holds, and where it anchors for the night.

The shape of a day

Move early, swim the rest

Cruising legs run three to six hours and are scheduled for early morning and late afternoon, so the middle of the day is spent snorkelling, hiking or on a beach rather than in transit.

Both formats depart from the Gili Islands or a sheltered Lombok bay, cross the Wallace Line on the first afternoon, and finish at Labuan Bajo. Every plan is adjusted for tides, park regulations and what your group actually wants.

The core plan

DAY 1

Gili To Moyo Or Satonda

Board mid-morning at Gili Trawangan, Meno, Air or a sheltered Lombok bay such as Gili Gede. After the safety briefing, cross the Wallace Line on a six to seven hour run toward Sumbawa, usually anchoring before sunset for a swim and a beach walk.

DAY 2

Saleh Bay

Reposition at sunrise along the Sumbawa north coast, four to five hours to Saleh Bay. Snorkel or swim where whale sharks are occasionally seen — never guaranteed — then a sheltered anchorage for the night.

DAY 3

Manta Point, Taka Makassar, Padar

Six to eight hours under way, broken into segments. An early run to Manta Point for drift snorkelling in season, on to the Taka Makassar sandbank, then a late-afternoon hop to Padar for the sunset ridge hike.

DAY 4

Pink Beach To Labuan Bajo

Pink Beach snorkelling in the morning, then a ranger-led walk to see dragons on Komodo or Rinca. After lunch, two to three hours into Labuan Bajo, docking mid-afternoon for airport transfers.

Six days, five nights

The slower version

Same highlights, more room to breathe. The format photographers and families with young children usually take.

DAY 1

Secret Gilis

A short two to three hour sail from Lombok's west coast into Sekotong Bay — Gili Gede, Nanggu, Layar, Asahan, Rengit, and the smaller islets of Kedis and Sudak. Calm water and an early night at anchor.

DAY 2–3

Sumbawa, Unhurried

Moyo's waterfalls in the morning and Satonda's crater lake in the afternoon, rather than one rushed stop. Saleh Bay gets a full early morning instead of a passing look.

DAY 4–5

Two Days In The Park

Padar at sunrise on one day and Manta Point at slack water on the other, with Pink Beach and Taka Makassar spread between them instead of stacked into one morning.

DAY 6

Into Flores

A relaxed final cruise to Labuan Bajo, arriving with time for lunch ashore before afternoon flights.

Practical

Four things about the plan

Early Starts

Padar and Manta Point are both first-light stops. The reward is having them almost alone.

Wildlife Is Seasonal

Whale sharks at Saleh Bay and mantas at Manta Point are likely in season, never promised.

Reversible

The same waypoints work Labuan Bajo to Lombok if that suits your flights better.

Adjusted, Always

Tides and park regulations move the order. The plan is a framework, not a timetable.

Questions

Before you commit

Ask us directly

How much time is spent sailing each day?

Three to six hours on most days, with one longer six to eight hour day on the 4D3N as the yacht moves from Saleh Bay into the park. Legs are scheduled early morning and late afternoon so the middle of the day is free.

What is the difference between 4D3N and 6D5N?

The 6D5N adds the Secret Gilis of Sekotong Bay at the start and spreads the same Komodo highlights across two full days instead of one. Sumbawa becomes a destination rather than a transit leg.

Where does the itinerary start and finish?

Boarding is at Gili Trawangan, Meno, Air or a sheltered Lombok bay such as Gili Gede in Sekotong. Every version finishes at Labuan Bajo in Flores, usually docking mid-afternoon for airport transfers.

Will we definitely see Komodo dragons?

Dragon walks on Komodo or Rinca are ranger-led and part of the standard plan, so sightings are near certain. Marine wildlife such as mantas and whale sharks is seasonal and genuinely not guaranteed.
